The small village of East Coker is close to the Somerset / Dorset border is a typical west country village with cottages made from the local yellow stone, many are still thatched. The local church is also the resting place for the ashes of T.S. Eliot, the poet, whose ancestors emigrated to America.

Sherborne Castle and the town of Sherborne itself with its many tea rooms. There are plenty of beaches, country walks and cycle paths in the area to explore.
Pay a visit to the Fleet Air Arm Museum and see Concorde or the classic cars at the Haynes Motor Museum.
The historical cities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Salisbury and Wells are also within easy driving distance of Granary House.
All in all East Coker is an ideal touring centre for Somerset and West Dorset.
